HTT-B10EX-W-T

Wireless Tabletop Keypad, White Textured

Perfect for bedside tables or anywhere else a simple, wireless keypad controller is needed. Features ten multifunction buttons with backlit engravable button labeling and LED feedback indicators.

Placed on a desktop, bedside table, or other flat surface, the HTT-B10EX affords simple elegance and convenience for any application requiring a small wireless keypad controller. Using the HTT-B10EX, lighting, shading, security, climate, and audio controls are always in reach. Its ten tactile pushbuttons are customizable with backlit engraving, and auto-brightness control maintains clear legibility of the buttons under any lighting condition. Attractive white LED indicators provide true feedback of system settings and status. The HTT-B10EX integrates with a Crestron® control system or Crestron Pyng® system using infiNET EX® wireless technology, ensuring reliable control of an entire room, residence, or workplace without any wires.

Multifunction Pushbuttons
Ten simple pushbuttons enable basic control without clutter or complication. Simply press a button to select a lighting scene, raise the window shades, or mute the music system. More advanced capabilities are available using “Button Events,” allowing different actions to be triggered depending on whether you tap, double-tap, or hold the button. “Shift key” functionality is also possible, allowing extra functions to be accessed by holding one key while tapping another. Whatever the need, the HTT-B10EX can be as simple or go as deep as you want.

Backlit Button Engraving
Pushbuttons can be ordered with custom engraving, allowing each button to be clearly labeled according to its function. The button engraving is backlit to facilitate use in a darkened room. High quality laser engraving is available from Crestron by ordering the B10-BTN(W/B)-T 5 ENGRAVED option (two are required for all ten buttons).

True Feedback
Each button is accompanied by a white LED indicator, which may be configured to confirm a button press, indicate the current selected lighting scene, or display the active state of a controlled device. “True feedback” response allows each LED to show you the actual status of your systems and equipment, so you’ll know if a ceiling fan is turned on, if a door is locked, or if the security system is armed. A selection of blink patterns can be assigned to indicate various conditions or to signal an alert. Bargraph capability can be enabled using all five LEDs on either side to indicate the dimming level, shade position, or audio volume as you adjust them.

Note: When operating on battery power, feedback is only displayed when woken from sleep mode by pressing a button or moving the keypad. After 5 seconds of inactivity, the keypad enters a power conserving mode where feedback from the control system is delayed by up to 3 seconds. After 10 seconds of inactivity, the keypad enters sleep mode where no feedback is displayed.

Auto-Brightness Control
To ensure optimal visibility under varying lighting conditions, the button backlighting and indicator intensity adjusts automatically according to the amount of ambient light in the room. Day or night, in bright sunlight or complete darkness, you’ll always be able to find the button you need. In a bedroom or other space where constant illumination may be distracting, the HTT-B10EX can be placed in “Manner mode,” which extinguishes the backlight and indicators after a configurable period of time following the last button press.

infiNET EX® Wireless Technology
Ultra-reliable infiNET EX wireless technology provides steadfast two-way RF communications throughout a residential or commercial structure using a robust 2.4 GHz mesh network topology. A single infiNET EX wireless gateway enables communication with the control system and supports an entire network of wireless keypads, lighting dimmers, motorized shades, thermostats, door locks, sensors, and other infiNET EX devices.[1,2]

Power Options
The HTT-B10EX can be powered by its external power pack or two AA batteries. The power pack plugs into a wall outlet and allows the keypad to operate continuously and function as a full-featured mesh network routing node.[1] When using batteries, the HTT-B10EX enters Sleep mode when not in use to conserve battery power, affording up to eight months of operation under typical usage on a set of alkaline batteries. To ensure you are never faced with dead batteries, the control system can be configured to send a low-battery warning to your mobile phone or computer, a Crestron touch screen, or a central help desk, allowing the batteries to be replaced before they ever have a chance to fail.

Movement Sensor
To ensure maximum responsiveness, the HTT-B10EX wakes instantly from Sleep mode or Manner mode when a button is pressed or when any movement or vibration is detected.

  1. Crestron infiNET EX wireless technology employs a mesh network topology so each “EX” device on the network acts as a routing node, which propagates the signals it receives on to other EX devices within range. This effectively extends the total range of the network and provides multiple redundant signal paths for extra reliability. A maximum of six “hops” across routing nodes is allowed, although a maximum of three is recommended. When powered using the included power pack, the HTT-B10EX behaves as a routing node. When powered using batteries, the HTT-B10EX behaves as a leaf node, and thus does not propagate signals or extend range. If needed, up to five dedicated infiNET EX expanders (model CLW-EXPEX-GD-W-T, sold separately) may be deployed as supplemental routing nodes to fill any gaps in coverage. Up to 100 infiNET EX devices are permitted per gateway, although best practices suggest a limit of 50. Refer to the “Installation and Setup of Crestron RF Products, Best Practices” guide (Doc #6689) for additional guidelines.
  2. The infiNET EX wireless gateway (model CEN-GWEXER, CENI-GWEXER, DIN-AP3MEX, MC3, or PYNG-HUB) is sold separately.
